James Guinnevan Seymour is an Irish artist and illustrator who currently resides in Co. Mayo in Ireland.
James was born and grew up in Co. Cork, Ireland in a rural setting where he spent his days drawing, watching movies and reading fantasy novels as well as comic books. He knew from 6 years of age that all he wanted to do was draw and so began his lifelong ambition and obsession to create.
James graduated from high school in 1997 aged 17 and went straight into Art College, spending a year studying Animation and 5 years studying Art and Design,3 of which was spent studying Fine Art Printmaking. After graduating in 2003 he would join with the Limerick Printmakers where he participated in many group exhibits whilst also collaborating with fellow artists in several exhibits as the group A.K.A.
In 2006 he left Ireland, living for a year in New Zealand, Australia and Thailand before finally settling in South Korea where he would live for five and a half years. Whilst in Korea James became a member of the International Artists of Korea, participating in over 30 group exhibits as well as publishing work in different magazines and art publications. In 2015 he moved to Vietnam where he continued creating illustration, focusing on published work and private commissions.
In late 2019 James moved back to Ireland where he continues to create illustrations for book covers, comics and private commissions.
James works mostly in pen and Ink but also creates paintings and print work.
